Public Hearing Notice – March 10, 2021
March 10, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
There will be a Public Meeting on March 10th to discuss changes to the Yellow Line (UNE) and addition of a “Downtown Circulator” service.
Biddeford Saco Old Orchard Beach Transit will hold a public hearing to announce
proposed changes to the Yellow Line and the proposed addition of a “downtown
circulator” route. The Yellow Line service from the Saco Transportation Center to the
University of New England (UNE) will undergo a schedule change with less time spent on
the UNE campus and more connections to our existing services and Amtrak. The Yellow
Line will be incorporated into the new “downtown circulator” route. After making the trip
to UNE and back, the service will transition into the “downtown circulator” route. The
service will leave Saco Transportation Center and turn right onto Main Street. It will
follow Main Street Saco to Lincoln Street in Biddeford. It will travel Lincoln Street to Elm
Street, Elm Street to Scammon Street in Saco. It will turn left onto Scammon Street to
North Street. It will turn right onto North Street and then right onto Main Street Saco
continuing on to the Saco Transportation Center. The “Downtown Circulator” will be
serviced by one of our new trolleys. Initial plans are for this service to be offered for
free and the changes implemented on or near August 1, 2021.
