Off-Route Pickup & Drop-Off
BSOOB Transit can travel up to ¾ of a mile off a regular bus route to pick you up or drop you off at a location that is not directly on the route.
This service is available to everyone. You do not need to have a disability, complete an application, or meet any special eligibility requirements.
How It Works
If your home, workplace, medical office, or other destination is located within ¾ of a mile of one of our regular bus routes, you may request that the bus leave its normal route to pick you up or drop you off.
The bus will return to its regular route after completing the requested pickup or drop-off.
For example, if you are unable to easily reach a regular bus stop, you may be able to request a pickup closer to your location.
Who Can Use This Service?
Anyone can request an off-route pickup or drop-off.
This service is available to all BSOOB Transit riders, including people with disabilities, older adults, and anyone who may have difficulty reaching a regular bus stop.
There is no separate paratransit eligibility process for this service.
How Far Off the Route Can the Bus Travel?
The requested pickup or drop-off location must be within ¾ of a mile of the regular bus route.
If you are unsure whether your location is within ¾ of a mile, please contact us. Our staff can help determine whether your trip can be accommodated.
